Victoria Beckham Gives Birth to Baby Girl, Couple's First Daughter

Perhaps it was fitting that a baby girl was born yesterday to one of the most recognizable soccer players in the world. David and Victoria Beckham gave birth to their first daughter and fourth child yesterday morning near Los Angeles. Harper Seven joins their three boys, Brooklyn, 11, Romeo, 8, and Cruz, 5. Just a day earlier, David Beckham scored a goal in his MLS team's victory, the team's twelfth consecutive match without a loss.

And just hours after Harper Seven came into the world, the U.S. Women's World Cup team was completing one of the greatest sporting matches ever played on the other side of the globe. With only seconds remaining in the second overtime period of a grueling match with Brazil, the U.S. scored to force a penalty-kick shootout. The U.S. eventually won the shoot-out and advanced to the semi-final round of the World Cup.

For the last several months, the media has hounded Victoria Beckham as the fashionista became more visibly pregnant. As recently as just a few days ago, David Beckham posted a candid photo of his very pregnant wife on his Facebook page, noting that the baby would be arriving at any moment.

With Victoria Beckham now 37 years old, it's believed that this will probably be the pair's final child, but given their level of fitness and unlimited financial resources, one shouldn't be surprised if they went for a fifth. Of course, now that there is a girl to go along with their three young sons, an appropriate balance may have been reached for all
